Palazzo Bo - Guided Tour

Palazzo Bo
Guided Tour
There is a place in Padua where you literally walk through centuries of science, medicine and cultural revolutions. It’s Palazzo Bo, the historic seat of the University of Padua, one of the most iconic and fascinating landmarks of the city.
Galileo Galilei taught there. Elena Cornaro Psicopia graduated there (the first graduated woman in the world - 1678). And the first permanent anatomical theater ever built? It’s here too, dating back to 1594. In short, if the walls could talk, they’d have incredible stories to tell.
What will you see?
The guided tour (on weekdays) takes you through frescoed courtyards, historic classrooms, and rooms where time seems to have stood still, including:
- The Cortile Antico, with its works of art
- The Aula Magna and the legendary Galileo’s chair
- The “anatomical kitchen” and the evocative Anatomical Theater
- The Sala dei Quaranta, Medicine Hall, and Law Hall*
- The statue of Elena Cornaro
(*Availability of some rooms may vary depending on events or academic activities.)
